What is your current state of mind?

Feeling creative and excited.

What’s your favorite place to people-watch?

Union Square.

Where’s the last place you traveled, and
where are you traveling next?

Vermont a few weeks ago. Hopefully going to Japan in 2026.

Where on earth has most surprised you?

Boise Idaho and Ogden Utah. Both surprisingly chic!

Where could you return to again and again?

Fire Island.

When and where were you the happiest?

In 2019 at The Garage in London, my band Charly Bliss played a sold-out album release show. The record had been out for less than 24 hours, and people already knew all the lyrics. It felt like we were The Beatles.

What’s your favorite place to take a friend
visiting from out of town?

Suzume in Williamsburg.

Where is your favorite place to work?

From home. In my breakfast nook.

What do you consider the lowest depth of misery when you go out for dinner or drinks?

For dinner, when it takes too long and the food ends up being expensive but not worth the price. For drinks, when there are too many people and it takes forever to get served.

What taste or flavor do you most crave?

Everything bagel, scallion cream cheese, and tomato.

What current trend drives you mad?

AI being used to make art.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Cabs: from home to the bar and back again, from my parents’ house in Connecticut to Brooklyn, always to and from the airport.

What would you be doing if you weren’t doing your current job?

Probably directing theatre.

Where would you most like to live?

The Village.

What quality do you like most and least in a travel partner?

I like when someone has things they want to do but can still go with the flow. I don’t like when people complain or bring the vibe down.

What commonly praised quality do you believe is overhyped or overvalued?

Niceness. Obviously, don’t be rude or disrespectful, but I think it’s worse to be overly fake-nice than to just be neutral.

What is your most treasured possession?

My French bulldog, Chico. He is my baby.

What do you regret spending money on?

Amazon.

What do you most deplore and most love about where you live?

I love how pretty Park Slope is and how everything I need is so close by. I hate how impossible the parking can be.

What is your personal motto/tagline?

Jealousy is a disease to which I say, get well soon!
